I would love to partner with an organization to help our community and school to provide our students with programs and knowledge to help prevent students from dropping out.
Our town is very rural and poverty is very evident. Our high school has one of the highest drop out rates in our county.
Literacy is extremely important to our community. I not only am a director of the first after school program but I am also a GED instructor. So, I really see the need for help in all of these areas that this grant provides.
Please provide my after school program with this opportunity to help our schools and community.
Thank you,
Brenda Webb
I am Brenda Webb, director of Berry Elementary after school program. I am seeking grants to provide community service for our small town and at the same time raise funds to benefit our after school program.
I have been a policy holder with State Farm for 35 years.
I would love to share our program, students, and needs with you.
Thank you,
Brenda Webb

Grants are funds disbursed by one party, often a Government Department, Corporation, Foundation or Trust, to a recipient, often a nonprofit entity, educational institution, business or an individual.
I am not sure if you have used or know about this program or not...but here is the link. I hope it helps you with whatever you need.

Good morning - Our school is seeking grant funding for a new artificial turf football field and new stadium lighting. Can you please advise if (and, if so, when) these grants will be re-opening for the 2010-2011 fiscal school year? Any assistance you can provide regarding grant funding for this purpose, or alternative grant/funding sources, would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for your assistance.

With the concern for the rainy season and the extended time it will take to rebuild even the simplest of domains, have the relief efforts considered replacing the makeshift tented camps with quonset huts as a more durable and protective shelter for the people in Haiti. It seems that these domains would be affordable and adequate shelter for those who are now at the mercy of the elements and loss. With the daunting task of rebuilding....could this be a more immediate relief. These structures would also be resistant to hurricaine and earthquake.
I would like to nominate my family for a house since my parents have been apart we have lived our life in apartments and had hard times but one thing i know is that my family has always been there for me. I watch every episode and i have noticed that you guys help a lot of families in need so just please consider this for my family we would greatly appreciate it your biggest fan.
The plight of this organization is to improve the lives and/or living conditions for our youth within this community and surrounding areas. We have a dedication to serving "unaccompanied youth" that have often been underrepresented and overlooked. Research has shown that each year there has been an estimated 1.6 to 1.7 million children who join the homeless. All My Children's Foundation is interested in providing recreation, after-school programming, family support, counseling and other social services.
Lindsay is my daughter.
I have a caregiver Rosario that has completely devoted her life to make a difference for these 3 children. She has spent every dollar she makes on her home improving it for the children. All three children are completely dependent, wheelchair bound. 2 have Cerebral Palsy and 1 has severe Tramatic Brain Injury. She has hired help since they are all needing 2-3 people to position, reposition, feed, bathe etc.
She bought a wheelchair bus so she can take them to the park. She got a therapy jacuzzi tub- in the garage, with a massage table next to it for Massage therapy (her son, also father of Zachery) a licensed therapist. She had her sons remodel the bathroom to make it a wheel in shower. They now have installed a therapy pool out back and enclosed it. As this all sounds wonderful as it is, I know they are now going to want even more money which I am unable to provide. I am already getting assistance from the state for repite and caregiving and also paying an extra 800.00 month. I am wondering if there is any grants that could help fund or reimpburse for some of these expenditures. I do not know of any program that I can put my child in besides this. I have looked and looked and researched the internet and found no where for my daughter as an alternative. We live in Houston TX and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
What I am looking for is either financial help to keep her where she is or 2nd) an alternative program she can go to 24/7.
I am a single mother and unable to lift her anymore. :o(
Thank you again
Kimber
Hello, my name is Mary Wilson from Bristol, TN. I would like to nominate my family for an Extreme Home Makeover. My husband works for VA DOC and I am a legal secretary. Times have really hit us hard as we had to file bankruptcy and cannot afford the smallest of repairs until we are paid completely in the Chapter 13. This year we have so far endured the worst winter the area has had in more than 10+ yrs. We live in a 1987 14x76 mobile home. I have never seen you all make over a mobile home and hope to be the first. Right now the temps is hovering around 20 degrees (without the windchill), it was actually 14 this morning with windchill of 0-5 degrees. This is the second time this winter that our hot water pipes have froze. We have a commode in the small bathroom that has leaked to the point it is literally sinking into the floor and you can see the ground if you take the towels up that I have wrapped around the base of it. The plumbing has been a major problem for a number of years now as the pipes were on a recall but when we found out about it, it was too late to file action for them to be replaced by the company for free as we filed our request past the cut off date for responding to recall, which means we usually have some type of water problem 3 or more times a yr. Our master bath is having electrical problems. Overhead lighting no longer works so we rely on a lamp to see by. Tub and shower both leak so we use the small bathroom for showers. Also when it is around 20 degrees our heating system just cannot keep up with keeping our home warm. We are even using 3 electrical heaters to help but there have been mornings that it has been 50 degrees inside when we get up of the mornings. Our floors are even starting to buckle in several places (really bad in the kitchen as it feels like you are literally falling through the floor.) We need new insulation underneath to help keep the house warm as well as new underpinning that has started to fall down from rot and decay. Please help us.
Sincerly,
Mary Wilson

I've never seen you all do a makeover for a mobile home but we are in dire need of a makeover. We live in a 1987 14x76 mobile home. We have had plumbing issues for the past 10+ yrs. The tub & shower in teh master bath are no longer usable due to the leaking pipes. The master bath lights (wiring issue) no longer work so our only light in there is a lamp. Our water heater has leaked so many times over the years there is mold growing on the walls. The floors are starting to buckle. If the temp gets below 30, our house is extremely old of the mornings even though our heat pump is fairly new. Has never been able to retain the heat. Our underpinning is falling down where our former neighbor's dogs used to chase other animals underneath our trailer, they've torn wiring down, as well as the insulation that was under the floors. We have a commode in the smaller bath room that is literally sinking in the floor from were it has leaked. The water is turned off to it but you can still flush it due to how much is has sunk. We really need help repairing our home to make it safe and a healthy home for our family.
It is clear that my grandson is a child that has been left behind. Within an hour of where we live, there is a school that has a program just for Prader Willies. The school district he lives in sends him to a school one and half hours away and they have a proven record of not givng him what he needs and he is not progressing. We are looking for a grant that can help us get him placed where he needs to be. If you have any information or know of where he can get help, please contact me via email. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
That is a very cool grant, I will definitely add it to the list of grants on my site!
The most beautiful women are those who have a wild imagination and creative personality. Beauty is more in depth than appearance. It is a combination of one's personality and interests and includes what makes people happy and what makes a person strong. I find beauty in art and I think that beautiful woman are people who have creative ideas and a vivid imagination. Creativity, such as designing, plays a huge role in a person's personality as it is a way of expressing one's true beauty. The following link is a self portrait concept called "A Series of Imagination" that I have created using my knowledge of graphic design, photography, and illustration. I believe this piece expresses the beauty in myself as creativity is what makes a woman beautiful.

Hello,
I am Cameron Kveen and I am writing to you from Carleton MI, a rural community just north of Monroe and the Ohio boarder. I am in the 10th grade and I play wing for the Airport Jets.
Maybe some of you know what it was like playing High School football on Friday night underneath the Stadium Lights. I think it's the best thing ever but Friday night football may be a thing of the past for Airport Community Schools.
You see, late this fall, our stadium lights had to be taken down because of age and structural issues.
The cost to replace the poles and lights will be 180,000. Our district is paying to have all the other field updates done but can't afford the poles and lights and the boosters are trying to come up with the money. We are planning fundraisers but unless we have all the money by July 1st. There is no way the poles and lights can go up in time for the 2010 football season.
I am hoping that you or someone you know can direct us to where we could go to get assistance.
Thank you for your consideration. Respectfully, Cameron Kveen
my company Super Kids Karate, Inc. has been offered the opportunity to teach kids in our local community center. We will begin martial arts classes for at risk students this month teaching twice a week for no charge. this will give us the opportunity to show how respect, self discipline and honor can improve the smart choices these kids can make. We are taking action to change the behavior patterns some kids make and improve their opportunities by helping them learn to choose wisely in the actions they create. At this point my instructors are committed to do this even though they will not be paid. The city does not have funding allocated for this project and i am personally paying for all the supplies we use. If we can pay our instructors and create funding for this project it can reach a city wide, state wide or even nationwide status to reach and improve the behavior patterns of kids in uncontrolled environments. We would welcome any support from any source who is interested in aiding this effort.
I really want to apply to be a part for 2010 Global Youth Service Day Lead Agency, actually I had attended the event in previous occasion and I really enjoyed that day.
How can a 501c3 with a focus on funding in-need youth participation in sports apply for donation consideration? We are conducting a live auction in June 2010 and seeking donation items for our auction.
Thank you for your time,

The Coopersville Farm Museum is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in a rural community between Grand Rapids and Lake Michigan, in Coopersville, Michigan. Built in 2001 with the purpose of honoring farming and rural life, the museum has seen tremendous change and growth. It has become an intricate part of the community and supports volunteerism throughout the community. Several youth programs are set up at the museum and more are in the works. We are currently raising funds to build a stage and hope to have a Summer Day Camp program for Traditional and Performing Arts in place by 2011. The museum also hosts Jam Nights twice a month allowing children to perform and build confidence and have even held several youth lead & organized concerts. Some of the other programs we encourage youth to be activity involved with (even in charge of organizing some of them) are; Animal Safety Petting Zoo, Community Fall Party (around Halloween time) free for all kids, a photo and art contest and exhibit, and food collection for our local food pantry.
Please let me know if you would like more information on any of the above mentioned programs or about the Coopersville Farm Museum.
New South Wales Australia is at the implementation stage of "Service Learning and Student Volunteering" programs. As a Regional Coordinator I would like examples of programs occurring around the world so that the NSW initiative can be both successful and innovative.
15 year old, author, photographer, teen philanthropist and community service advocate, Annica Benning wrote, researched and photographed Arizona: Nations and Art, the definitive children's book on Arizona's Indigenous People as a community service project. She is now raising funds to accomplish her goal: to gift the book to all 4th graders in the state each November, National Native American Awareness Month.
Lovena Oln Foundation is donating 4000 copies to all schools and libraries in Arizona, this year.
With this first gift have been pleas from school districts to expand the gift to include middle and high school libraries, as well.
As a result of her travels across the state, photographing and researching Annica realized the need to foster teen understanding. Together with a Gila River Indian Community Youth Council and UWC-USA, and members from her community she founded Bridges:2010 Native and NonNative Youth Summit for Understanding.
Children on the reservations experience isolation. This segregation often leads to perception issues, difficulty transitioning into higher education, and even depression. The current drop out rate from high school and university of our indigenous students remains twice the national average. If this project enables even a few more native youths to stay in school, each of those educations is a true victory for them and our collective public.
In addition, Annica is always ready with her camera to volunteer for community causes. Her photographs are used in both print and TV ads for Camp Soaring Eagle, a camp for terminally ill children. She created a fund raising poster for the Hualapai Nation Boys and Girls Club. Designed the cover and illustrated a Geometry book for Arizona schools.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Whatcom County is interested in submittinga proposal for the Torch Club and Keystone Clubs. Torch Club is a small-group leadership development program. It is targeted to youth ages 11 to 13. At each Club site across Whatcom County, members elect officers and plan and implement their own activities and community service projects. Keystone is similar in concept but targeted to youth ages 14-18. Planned activities include neighborhood and park clean-up and beautification projects, reading with seniors, and participating in Global Youth Service Day.
