Hurricane Alex hits Mexico

Hurricane Alex landed in Mexico around 2:00 GMT, and the American Red Cross has started moving supplies and workers to South Texas. President Obama declared a state of emergency in Texas late Tuesday night, and Texas Governor Rick Perry issued his own proclamation for 19 counties within the state.
The American Red Cross has been working closely with The Mexican Red Cross (Cruz Roja Mexicana), who have prepared relief supplies for at least 20,000 people.
