Youth Service America recognizes seventeen year old Julia Haney from Wayland, Massachusetts as an Everyday Young Heroe for her efforts to promote a world where kids can achieve their athletic, artistic, environmental and educational aspirations and where youth development is seen as an important priority, as well as her efforts to motivate her peers to become community leaders and active global citizens.

Youth Service America recognizes seventeen year old Haley Burgess from Franklin, Massachusetts as an Everyday Young Heroes for her efforts to provide emotional support for children going through difficult situations around the world.
Dylan Mello - Portsmouth, RI
Dylan has addressed sports concussion awareness after suffering three sports related concussions in 2008. Dylan contacted his local House Representatives and Senators to draft legislation into the House and Senate in Rhode Island to initiate a Law to protect all athletes from the dangers of concussions and establish training standards for school and athletic officials.
Michelle Pelton - Swansea, MA
During her middle school and high school sports career, Michelle sustained 7 athletic concussions. Due to her head injuries, she decided to engage the media, school officials, and local non-profit organizations to bring greater attention to this silent injury. Her long term goal was to ensure coaches, educators, parents and athletes understood the proper care and treatment when a youth or HS athlete sustains a concussion.

David Engle - Glen Rock, NJ
16 year old David Engle of Glen Rock, New Jersey engages disadvantaged and disabled children in recreational activities.
David Engle founded a non-profit organization, Carnivals for Children on Wheels (CFCOW.org) when he was just 14 to bring free carnivals to children who are underprivileged and/or mentally and physically disabled. He got the idea for this program after learning about a program called Pony Power, which brings therapeutic horseback riding to children who are mentally and physically challenged.
